Bobbie Ann Connor's Obituary
Bobbie Ann Connor, after a hard-fought battle with cancer, was called to her heavenly home, November 23, 2020. But, love remains, and we will carry her in our hearts.
She was a true firecracker, born on The Fourth of July, 1937 in Red River County, TX. As a child, she thought everyone celebrated her Birthday.
Even from an early age, Bobbie valued work, and worked hard all of her life. She recently confided, "God has always given me the strength, and equipped me to do whatever He called me to do." Her hands, no longer working, once picked cotton, made beautiful wreaths and bows, and took care of her family, and patients. She had always given of herself to others in need, but it was after caring for, and losing her beloved son Billy Rush to illness, that led her to her life’s calling. She became a certified CNA, and worked many years in the homes of families, taking care of their loved ones. Her ability to connect her patients to their lives, and enrich their days, endeared her to families.
She fiercely loved her family, all ways, always. She is survived by two daughters, and their husbands, Tam and Crockett DuBose, and Terri Connor, and Eric Crum, of Houston.
The joy of her life was her grandchildren, and great grandchildren: Ashley Bounds, husband Bryan, and children Gavin, and Gillian, Drew DuBose, wife Kaitlyn, and children Remy Lynn, and soon to be born Rhett, and Connor DuBose, and wife Meredith, and their children Mary-Milum, Rush, and Wyatt.
She lived largely in the lives of others. She was lovingly called Mom, Nana, Miss Bobbie, and friend to those she leaves behind. She will be remembered in so many ways throughout our remaining days, especially by her trade mark wit, and sayings that we lovingly refer to as "Nanaisms.” We'll also smile when we think of her cooking, decorating at holidays, being early to everything, always dressed in her best, every hair in place, and adorned with jewelry that she enjoyed collecting.
Loved ones that preceded her in death, but remained close in heart were sons, Bobby Russ, and Billy Rush, mother, Doris, father, Clarence, and brother, Sonny.
She is being laid to rest by her family that loves her so, next to her son Billy, in a private, graveside service on Monday,
