Bob Triunfo Risma's Obituary
Triunfo Caintic Risma, known affectionately as Bob, Daddy Bob, Uncle Bob, or Lolo Bob, was born in the Philippines on September 11, 1945, at the end of World War II. The youngest son of Victor and Consorcia Risma, Bob grew up near the beautiful beaches of Tago, Surigao del Sur.
Making accounting his chosen profession, Bob became a C.P.A. and was employed by several companies before working at the place that would forever change his life. The company name isn’t as important as who worked there, a fellow accountant named Dori “Daya” Baguio.
Bob and Daya’s romance made the trip around the world, settling first in Chicago, Illinois, where they married in 1974. The next year blessed them with their son, Rich, followed by their daughter, April, two years later.
Like birds in the winter, the young family moved south to Pearland, Texas, a suburb of Houston, in 1979. They called this city home for the next 45 years, with homes in Woodcreek and later Banbury Cross. Their friends and family were familiar with Bob’s beautiful, booming voice and infectious smile. He led every party in song or onto the dance floor for a line dance or three.
By those who knew him, loved him, and will miss him, Bob will always be remembered for his joyous spirit, his love of family, music, dancing, food, and laughter. He was the life of the party and enjoyed spending time at the casino with Daya and his best friends. He was always amazed by his children and grandchildren and enjoyed watching them perform.
Bob passed peacefully in his sleep the morning of Sunday, June 1st. He is survived by Daya, his loving wife of 51 years; his son, Rich, and his wife, Gizelle; his daughter, April, and her husband, Mark Hilahan; his sisters, Lolita and her husband, Inocentes Pontevedra, Cynthia Flor and her husband, Mateo Degracia; his sisters-in-law, Flordelis Baguio, Tecla and Luz Risma; and his beloved grandchildren, Sage, Payton, Oliver, and Kaden.
