Bettye Elaine Fly's Obituary
Bettye Elaine Fly, of Pasadena, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 18th, 2024, in her home at the age of 91. She was born on February 20th, 1933, in Mobile, Alabama, to Annie Lee and Howard Gould. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard Fly, her daughter Susan Pierce, her siblings James Gould, Rose Mary Gould, Robert Gould, Dorothy Denton, Howard Gould Jr., John Gould, David Gould, Shirley Fly, and Edward Gould, and her grandson, Jeffrey Pierce.
Throughout her life, Bettye enjoyed singing, line dancing, decorating cakes, bowling, fishing, gardening, cruising, shopping, and spending time with her family. Attending church regularly and sharing the word of God was also very important to her. She was a proud member of Elim Church for 54 years and served the church in various capacities including managing the church kitchen.
Bettye is survived by her sister Mary Walker, daughter Patricia Radar, son Richard [Debi] Fly, daughter Kimberly [Ray] Horton, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at Elim Church in Houston, Texas. Visitation is from 11:00 to 12:00 and the service will follow. Interment will take place at the South Park Cemetery in Pearland, Texas.
