Mrs. Betty Odom's Obituary
Betty was born in Blakely,Ga. on Jan.30,1938, to Nora Lee and Elijah
P.Richardson. Betty was the sixth of seven children born to Nora Lee.The
family moved from Georgia to Houston,Tx. in 1955 and made Texas their
home. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, George Odom,
mother, Nora Whittaker, father, Elijah Richardson, sister,Sarah Walling,
sister, Marjorie Matillo,and brother, Homer P.Harrison.
Betty is survived by her son, John D. Conyer and the love of
her life, Kyle David Conyer, who knew her as his loving "Maw Maw". Other
survivors include, sister, Nancy Dollar and husband Calvin, sister,
Elizabeth Smith and husband, Leon, brother, Edward {Buck} Richardson and
wife, Judy. Betty is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she
loved and cherished. Betty was an avid Elvis fan and was able to attend several
concerts with her sister, her Mother and her Aunt Thelma. One of her
favorite TV shows was "Duck Dynasty". Betty was known by her friends and family as an avid Crappie
fisher. She had a few tall tales to tell about some of those experiences.
Betty will be remembered by her family as one who always
loved the family get togethers, especially Thanksgiving. We will miss her
and we know she is in a better place and having a ball visiting with
friends and family in heaven.
