Betty Leder's Obituary
Betty Slife Leder, age 86, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026. A true Texas native, she was born on September 22, 1939, in Lake Jackson and lived a life marked by devotion to her family and quiet strength. Betty will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and adoring grandma “Gammy”, a steady presence, and a woman whose life was defined by care, resilience, and compassion.
Throughout her life, Betty embraced adventure and relished in moments of joy. She traveled to all 50 states and all 7 continents, never passed on tiramisu if it was on the menu, and loved any opportunity to dance. Her cooking and homemade cookies were a staple throughout her life that brought friends and family together.
Betty took pride in her family and found her greatest joy in the moments shared with those she loved most. She is survived by her three sons, Glenn Leder, John Leder, and James Leder, and 7 grandkids, Amy, Sean, Sarah, Drake, Luke, Devin and Thad who carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity. Her memory will live on in their hearts and in the lives of all who knew her. Betty’s life reminds us of the importance of family, kindness, and unwavering commitment to those we hold dear. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
Her service and memorial will be at 1pm Saturday June 6th at 1pm.
