Betty Jean Gamble's Obituary
Betty was raised in Pearland, went to Pasadena High School and lived around the area throughout her life. She worked at Prince’s Hamburgers as a Car Hop in Houston where she had many friends and coworkers and talked about all the fun they had. In fact, while working there, she met Charles Gamble -it was love at first sight! Charles and Betty were married, and she became a housewife and began managing their rent houses while raising their 3 daughters. She loved camping and traveling during the summers taking the girls around the country to see and appreciate it.
After Charles retired, they sold their rent houses, moved back to Pearland and began going to WWII reunions and multiple cruises. They loved meeting people and seeing the sites around the globe.
Betty had a green thumb, loved bright colors, flowers and especially roses. She would take cuttings of the pretty fragrant roses and grow them so she would have many to pick from.
She was the love of Charles’ life and when she began declining in health, he was her loving caretaker.
Betty loved to cook and made the best fried chicken that we will forever remember and cherish.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Smith, Becky Goshand Rhonda Baird; grandkids, Amanda Cavazos, Blake Niederhofer, Matt Gosh, Jessica Gosh and Brooke-lyn Baird; great grand children, Dylan Dresen, Rhett Gosh, Christian Cavazos, Charles Gosh, Hattie Gosh.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James Henry and Alice Rebecca Kent ; siblings, Willie, James, George, Hazel and Dixie.
