She leaves behind two brothers, Charlie Olsen, Allan Olsen and wife Irene.
Two sons, R Keith and Wife Tonya, Allan and wife Debbie.

Ten great grandchildren, Mikalea Smith, Jayden Smith, Schyler Smith, Alexander Smith, Tait McCain, Bane Carter, Slade Carter, Daxton Carter, Peyton Hill and Amara Hill.
Betty grew up with her siblings on the family homestead on the Montana / Wyoming border. She graduated from HS and shortly after married the love of her life Ralph Williams “Jim” Darnell. Their life adventures took them to many places. They lived in the gulf coast of Texas and Louisiana, the desert of California, and the wilds of Alaska. As Allan and Keith got older, she decided to continue her education and graduated from McNeese State University in Lake Charles with a degree in Accounting.
Betty and Ralph made a few moves, mainly as Ralph chose to work. Each time, she assured her boys got connected at school and with new friends. She enjoyed being a part of their school activities and helped with Band and Football. After high school and as the family grew, she and Ralph enjoyed visits and then eventually moved close to have an essential role with the grandchildren.
Betty loved family time which always included close friends. She was happy in any kitchen as it was always a hub for sharing the day’s activities and what was coming next. In her later years, every holiday or special occasion, you could always find her proudly perched at the kitchen counter to assure the recipes were followed correctly and that that the grandchildren knew the importance of passing them along and enjoying the process.
Mom, you are loved and will be missed until we are together again. Thank you for choosing us. Give Dad a hug for us.
Keith and Allan
