Mrs. Bernice Kimble's Obituary
Bernice Kimble was born June 1, 1919 in Midway, Texas. She grew up in Oakwood, Texas, graduating from Oakwood High School in May, 1936. After moving to Houston, she met and married Leo Kimble who preceded her in death. They were blessed with four girls. She was a housewife and devoted mother. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling, family gatherings, Word-Search puzzles and cooking. She was a wonderful cook and we will especially miss her delicious peach cobbler. She confessed Christ at an early age. After joining with the South Union Church family, she was active in the Mass Choir, Sanctuary Choir, Women's Chorus, Missionary Auxiliary, and the Kitchen Committee until her health declined. She departed this life March 22, 2010, and leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Eleanor Kindle (Richard), Janice Gentry (Harold), Linda Watson (James), and Vernita Streeter (Clarence - deceased), one God daughter, Gwen Bossett, ten grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren. She also leaves behind three sisters-in-law, Jessie Washington (Los Angeles, Ca), Rosetta Jackson and Thelma Hackett (both of Houston, Tx.); special cousins Leola Nealey (Midway, Tx.) and Oletha Thomas (Houston, Tx.), and many other relatives, friends and neighbors.
