Mr. Benjamin "Ben" Taylor's Obituary
Benjamin David Taylor, 48 year resident of Pearland, TX, left this world to join the angels at Houston Hospice on July 1, 2012. He was born September 24, 1937 in Bartow, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and William and wife, Clementine. He is survived by 2 sons, Michael Randolph Taylor and David Lentz, daughter-in-law, Belinda Taylor, daughter-in-law, Sandra Lentz, 9 grandchildren: Mark, Christopher, Jason, Lynzze, Amber, David, Kerri, Kim and Jeff, numerous great-grandchildren, 3 sisters: Barbara Jean, Sandra and Sheryl, sister-in-law Linda, an array of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and his constant companion Susie (his dog). Ben graduated from Green Bank High School, West Virginia, in 1955. He married the love of his life, Clem, on Jan 19, 1960. He moved his family to Florida in 1961 and ended up in Houston in 1962 and threw down roots in Pearland in 1964. He was a carpenter, machinist and finally a NASA engineer for 30 plus years. He retired from NASA in 2000. He received his engineering degree from the University of Houston. He was a Pearland City Councilman and Little League Coach in the 1960's and 1970's. His interests were raising his family, owning horses, fishing, hunting and the occasional chili cook-off. He loved pets and usually had a dog at his side. His latest companion is Susie, a dachshund/Chihuahua mix. Ben will sorely be missed by all who were blessed enough to know him.
