Mrs. Beatrice Elizabeth Miears' Obituary
Mother. Grandmother. Great-grandmother.
Great-great grandmother.
Aunt. Wife. Friend.
Proud Texan.
Born October 8, 1913, in Elgin, Texas. The year before Alexander Graham Bell made his first coast-to-coast telephone call. Three-and-a-half years before the US entered World War I.
Bea reduced, reused and recycled decades before it was fashionable, crediting the Great Depression and WWII for learning to make much from nearly nothing.
Voracious reader. Master seamstress. Unsurpassed creator of culinary delights, especially cornbread dressing, enchiladas, birthday cakes (pies for those who preferred them) and chocolate chip cookies.
Fiercely loyal to those she loved. Unwavering in her faith. Proudly independent. She loved creatures large and small (except roaches).
On August 24, 2019, six weeks shy of 106, Bea reunited with her beloved daughter Judith, devoted husband Pierce, and the many cherished family members who preceded her.
We’ll remember most her dedication to family, her independent spirit, her sense of humor and her smile.
