Barbara Alene Armintor's Obituary
Barbara Alene Gilbreath Armintor, 91, of Galena Park, Tx said her final goodbye on August 27, 2024, peacefully, in the loving care of her family. Barbara was born April 6, 1933, one of seven children born to Roy and Allie Gilbreath.
Barbara attended Resurrection School and was taught by the Sisters of St. Mary through the 8th grade, then graduating from Galena Park High School in 1951. She worked as a secretary seventeen years for Brown & Root Engineering and three years for The Texas Medical Center. She also volunteered with her husband, Ralph, at McArthur Elementary, after retiring, helping children with reading skills.
Barbara’s vocation was raising her beautiful children. Her pleasures were reading, writing and traveling with her husband in retirement. She had a deep love for her family and enjoyed many happy times in her life with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed the company of her beloved pets, Cowboy, Skye and Zara. Barbara was, as many have said before, the life of the party! She lived everyday being cheerful, and lifting others up. Ralph and Barbara were married, January 2, 1954 at our Lady of Fatima, beginning a wonderful union of forty-five years and building a family with nine children.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Allie Gilbreath, her dear husband, Ralph D. Armintor Jr., sons Frank Armintor, Lloyd Armintor, Matthew Armintor and Travis Armintor, sisters Vernabell Sterns, Bernice Pasley, Cathy Callas, Annette Dees, Lauretta Metzler, brother Roy “Sonny” L.
