Autumn Renee La'Shaunda Duncan's Obituary
Autumn made her grand entrance at 6:57 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Autumn’s birth itself defied all odds as the doctors said she either would not survive birth, or she would not survive long afterwards. Not only did Autumn survive, but she also thrived! A true Princess Warrior, short in stature tall in personality, Autumn’s totem was the giraffe. And so, her room in the NICU was appropriately decorated, and coincidently named, in that regard.
Autumn took her final breath in her mother’s arms in the Butterfly Room of the NICU at Texas Children’s Hospital at 12:31 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Autumn spent her last moments with her Mama, Daddy, Nana, Pop, Gammy, YiaYia, and Grumps. Although Autumn was with us only briefly, our lives and the lives of those who know of her are forever changed.
Autumn is survived by her loving family, parents Amber Reneé Conway and Dwayne Darius L’Overture Duncan III; grandparents Marion Mofield (Gammy) and Kenesha and Dwayne Duncan II (YiaYia and Grumps); great-grandparents Gladys T. Springer (preceded in death), Charlotte and Kenneth Starling, I (Nana and Pop), Loretta Mims (Granny) and Melanie and Dwayne Duncan, I; Uncles Alex O’Bryant, Anthony Mofield, Dakari Duncan, and Dreyden Duncan; and Aunts Ashley Potts, Ava Mofield, Cortlyn Duncan, and Brenda Gorman (Auntie Brenda); and a host of other uncles, aunts, cousins, and family friends left to cherish Autumn and her memory.
