Mrs. Aurora Pinales' Obituary
Aurora (Berta) Ybarra Pinales, 93, of San Marcos, TX passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 17, 2016. She was born September 23, 1923 to Fred and Epiminia Ybarra in San Marcos, Texas. Aurora married Benjamin Pinales in San Marcos on June 21, 1947. They lived in Pearland, TX before moving back to San Marcos, Texas. Earlier this year they celebrated 69 years of marriage.
Aurora is also survived by her three children; Gloria Collazo of San Marcos, Mary Ann Cordova and husband Nick, of Pearland, and Daniel Pinales and wife Susie, of Canyon Lake, TX, seven grandchildren, Michael and Maria Collazo from the Gloria Collazo family, Kimberly Ramirez and Jeffrey Cordova from the Mary Ann Cordova family, Kristina Cross from George Pinales family, and Daniel and Priscilla Pinales from the Daniel Pinales family. Aurora is also survived by four great-grandchildren; Brandon and Allie Cross from the Kristina Cross Family, Alexander Ramirez from the Kimberly Ramirez family, and Marissa Collazo from the Michael Collazo family, and a sister, Helen Valdez.
Aurora is preceded in death by a son, George Pinales, and three brothers, Roy, Henry, and Fred Ybarra.
Aurora retired after working in the Food Service Department of the Pearland Independent School District. She loved serving all of the children at C J Harris Elementary School, especially two of her grandchildren.
While living in Pearland, Aurora and Benjamin were active members of the Pearland Presbyterian Church, the Pearland Senior Center, and the Pearland YMCA Senior group. Aurora loved to be around people and could easily strike up a conversation with anyone. She always had a smile on her face.
Aurora’s family and friends all knew they were loved by her because she never ended a conversation without telling them “I love you.”
Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20 at South Park Funeral Home, 1310 N Main St. Pearland, Texas 77581.
Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Casey Jones, will be held at South Park Funeral Home, 1310 N Main St. Pearland, TX 77581 at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, followed by a graveside service at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598.
