Mrs. Audra Kay Lawson's Obituary
Audra Kay Lawson peacefully entered into the loving arms of our Lord on December 15, 2019 at the age of 61 years old. She was ushered into heaven surrounded by her family and close friends with songs of her favorite hymns.
She was born in Fort Stockton, Texas to Nancy Carroll and Carroll Walter Nix on June 10, 1958. She graduated from Fort Stockton High School as an honor graduate in 1976. She then graduated from Sul Ross University, Summa Cum Laude in 1991 with a BA in Elementary Education. Audra was married to Johnny Lawson on January 26, 1975. She was a teacher at Alamo Elementary in Fort Stockton ISD for 10 years and at Silverlake Elementary in Pearland ISD for 14 years. She spent her retirement enjoying her grandchildren, travelling to different places. Her favorite vacations were Hawaii with her husband and the Grand Canyon with her family. She loved life. She resided with her husband in Pearland for the last 18 years.
Audra is preceded in death by her parents, CW & Nancy Nix, and brothers Wally Nix and Daniel Nix.
She will always be remembered by her loving husband Johnny Lawson of 44 years of marriage and children Johnny Lawson, Jr., Jeffrey Lawson and wife Allison (Grandchildren: Braden, Avery, and Alivia), Kristi Martinez and husband Fabian (Grandchildren: Ryan, Brian, Lexi, Kylie, and Landon).Sisters, Cheryl Dickinson and husband Greg , Linda Englert and husband Jerry, , brothers Wayne Nix and Joann, and Michael Nix and Rebecca.
The Lawson family will be receiving friends and family on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at South Park Funeral Home for visitation from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral service will continue on Friday, December 20, 2019 at Shadycrest Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with burial to follow services at South Park Cemetery.
