Arthur Robert Thomas Runge III's Obituary
Arthur ‘Art’ Robert Thomas Runge III passed away peacefully on Monday, October 26, 2020 following a courageous battle with lung cancer. He is the son of the late Arthur Fredrick Thomas Runge Jr (Sandra Runge) and the late Marilyn (Kenley) Runge. Art was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jim Peart; brother-in-law, Garland ‘Kip’ McJunkins; and sister-in-law, Virginia Peart.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 12 years, Krista Runge, two sons AJ (Brittane) Runge IV and Jordon Runge; a daughter, Payton Runge and a granddaughter, Anayah Runge; his siblings Kevin (Elizabeth) Szopenske, John (Kimberly) Peart, Joseph Peart, Deborah (Mike) Inglesbe, and Amy McJunkins; numerous nieces and nephews.
Art loved his family, was a mentor to many kids, and never met a stranger. He would drop everything for his friends and family. He loved fishing, golfing, playing softball, working on things in his garage, keeping up his butterfly garden, brewing beer with neighbors, coaching his daughter’s softball teams, and driving his Jeep. Art volunteered as a greeter at New Hope Church throughout his illness.
A Celebration of Art’s Life will take place on November 21, 2020 at New Hope Church 288 Campus (3640 CR 58, Manvel, TX) at 12pm. All children are welcome.
God saw you getting tired And a cure was not to be So He put His arms around you And whispered "Art, Come with Me."
With tearful eyes We watched you suffer And saw you fade away Although we loved you dearly We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating Hard working hands at rest God broke our hearts to prove He only takes the best!!!
It's lonesome here without you We miss you more each day Life doesn't seem the same Since you've gone away.
When days are sad and lonely And everything goes wrong We seem to hear you whisper, "Cheer up and carry on." Each time we see a butterfly You seem to smile and say, "Don't cry, I'm right here. We'll meet again someday.
