Arlo Marvin Lemke's Obituary
Arlo Marvin Lemke passed peacefully from this world to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 21, 2023. His passing was a surprise to us, but it was not a surprise to his Heavenly Father.
Arlo was born on August 21, 1952 in Tomball, Texas to Adolf and Hertha Lemke who came to the United States in 1952 from Germany. He was the youngest son of 4 brothers – Paul, Hans, Martin and one younger sister – Marcella.
Arlo had a typical upbringing in Houston and played the coronet in the Lamar High School Band. After graduation, he joined the Army and spent time stationed in Germany. After the Army, he worked as an electrical draftsman and later went to work for the US Postal Service as a processor where he eventually retired.
Arlo loved his family and God and was always willing to help anyone in need. He was a fixer and enjoyed repairing things. He especially liked working on automobiles; he even edited the service manual of his truck because it was incomplete. He was an avid learner and loved to read. He set time aside regularly to study the bible. He also enjoyed reading law journals which he collected. He also collected movies. He loved computer games and would often play online with his family.
Arlo loved feeding the birds, squirrels and any other animals that wandered into his yard. He was friendly and well-liked by all his neighbors. He was a huge help to his younger sister when he moved to Pearland from Houston to be closer.
Arlo will be greatly missed but we know we will see him again in heaven!
Love you awesome brother
