Araceli "Sally" Mendiola Tedder's Obituary
In loving memory of Araceli (Sally) Mendiola Tedder, who gained her angels wings on June 7, 2023. She was 79 years old. She bravely faced a battle with Cholangiocarcinoma (Bile Duct Cancer) with grace and hope. Though her spirit never gave up, her body could no longer hold up against the disease that ultimately took her from us.
Sally was born on September 8, 1943 to Andres and Zulema Mendiola in Laredo, Texas. She graduated from Martin High School in 1961. Sally was one of 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Just a few short years later, she married Bobby J. Tedder (Sr.) in Laredo, Texas, on June 19, 1965, when she was 21 years old. They were married for nearly 58 years. Mom was a devoted Catholic who fiercely loved her family without prejudice.
Sally was the devoted sister, wife, Aunt, mother, grandmother and friend. Mom’s warm welcoming spirit never met a stranger and was loved by anyone she pulled into her orbit. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Everyone will always remember Mom’s adventurous spirit and unique sense of style. Not one to be boring, she was usually the life of the party.
Sally worked in customer support for Center Point Energy, retiring in 2010. She worked in many of the offices including Alvin, Sugarland, and Hiram Clarke. She loved her Center Point family and found lifelong friends during her 30-years at the company.
Sally’s life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were Blessed to be touched by her understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time that she stayed here. She has gifted us with her light, love and fun-loving spirit. And though she is no longer on this earth, her gift to us will never be forgotten.
We know Sally was met in Heaven by those who preceded her: Her father, Andres Mendiola, Sr, Her Mother, Zulema Mendiola. Her Sisters: Rosario (Cherry) Gonzales, Judith S. Davila, Sandra Mendiola. Brother Andres Mendiola Jr. (We are pretty sure they are having Margaritas and listening to a Mariachi band)
Sally is Survived by her husband Bobby J. Tedder, Sr. Children: Bobby J. Tedder, Jr [Amy Tedder], Denise L. Sanders [Timothy Sanders], Brian J. Tedder. Grandchildren: Shelby, Blaise, Tyler, Brian Jr., Gaby, Payton, Zachary, Nick, Krista. Sister: Zulema Garza, Brother: David Mendiola. Sister from another Mister: Connie McMaster [Dan McMaster]. Many Brother-in-laws, Sister-in-laws, Nieces, Nephews and Friends.
Mom, you will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
