Anu Mariyam Varghese's Obituary
Anu Mariyam Varghese, born on July 26, 1987, in Pathanapuram Kerala to Cherumala Puthen Veedu, the second of four children to Varghese Daniel and Omana Varghese. Anu was raised in a God-fearing home that nurtured her steadfast love for the Lord and His Word. At a young age, she accepted Jesus as her personal Savior. Anu took water baptism in May of 2003 and received the Holy Spirit.
She completed her BSc in nursing at the Kasturba Gandhi Nursing College in Pondicherry and her masters at the Vinayaka Missions Nursing College in Salem. She worked as a registered nurse at Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai. Upon her migration to the United States, Anu worked at the Woman’s Hospital in Texas. Following the completion of her post masters in nursing, she worked as a family nurse practitioner.
She was married to Meril Philip on June 13, 2013, and God blessed them with their two beautiful children, Adriel and Lucas. Together they built a Christ-centered family marked by prayer, gentleness, and faith. She was dedicated member of the New Testament Church. She served the Lord faithfully and humbly, radiating a quiet strength and a warm, joyful spirit that touch everyone she met.
For the final season of her life, Anu walked through a time of physical affliction, yet she never lost the smile on her face nor the peace in her heart. Even in the midst of intense suffering, she continued to encourage others with her words, demeanor, and unwavering faith. She often testified of the comfort and peace she received from the Lord, holding fast to her hope in Christ until the very end. Her life remains a radiant testimony of perseverance, grace, and victory through faith. Recently, Anu started having difficulties again and God saw it fit to take her home on October 30. We trust that Anu is now in the presence of the Lord, reunited with others who have gone before, including her late brother Sam Dany Varghese, where there is no more pain.
She is remembered by her husband- Meril Philip, and children- Adriel and Lucas Philip, her parents, siblings- Manu Varghese and Rinu Thankam Varghese, her in-laws- Koshy and Mercy Philip, her sister-in-law- Feba Philip and large extended family. Together with many friends in the Lord, we were blessed by her gentle example and steadfast devotion. Though she is deeply missed, we rejoice that she has entered the glorious presence of her Savior. We hold fast to the blessed hope that “The dead in Christ shall rise first” and that we shall be reunited when the Trumpet shall sound.
