Mr. Antonio M. Cisneros' Obituary
Antonio Martinez Cisneros, age 90, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and husband, passed away peacefully on Sunday, the 18th of June, 2017, Father’s Day.
Antonio was born in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, on the 11th of September, 1926, where he attended Roberts Technical Institute and later married his sweetheart Gloria Flores in 1949.
Family and faith were important in Antonio’s life. He loved singing, listening to music, learning wonderful new things like how to play the violin and the harmonica, taking the family to picnics, and traveling to Mexico to visit family. He had a wonderful zest for life. He worked as a tool and die maker, was a perfectionist, had creative gifts in machining, found ways to improve the production of machining tools, which helped companies be more efficient and lower costs. He had a heart for workers and fought for social justice.
Antonio is survived by daughter Maria De Lourdes Cisneros De De La Cerda, her sons Ruben and Ricardo and their families; Gloria Cisneros Lenoir and her husband, Walter, their daughters Lucy, Katherine and her husband, and their son Frank; Marco Antonio and his wife Norma, their sons Eric, Jose Eduardo, Luis, and their families; Judith Van Wagoner and her husband John, their daughter Laura and her family, and their son Adam; Gerardo Cisneros and his wife Donna, and their children Star and Benjamin; Raquel Puccio and her husband Christopher, their daughters Alexandra and her husband, and Olivia; and Ariel and his wife Ann, and their sons Alexander, Theodore, and Nicholas. Antonio was preceded in death by his parents and Gloria, his beloved wife of 50 years, and son-in-law Ruben De La Cerda.
The family desires to express their gratitude to Nikki Amanuel and Charlotte Oliver for the care given to Antonio.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five to seven p.m. on Wednesday, the 21st of June, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 9900 Stella Link Road, Houston, Texas 77025, where the Recitation of the Holy Rosary will commence at seven p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at ten a.m. on Thursday, the 22nd of June, also at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
The Graveside Burial service is at two p.m. on Friday, the 23rd of June, at Restland Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue in Dallas, Gerardo Cisneros officiating.
Grandsons Ruben and Ricardo De La Cerda, W. Frank Lenoir, Jose Eduardo Valdez, Luis Antonio Cisneros, Adam Van Wagoner, Ben Sawyer, and grand son-in-law, Zachary Taylor are honored to serve as casket bearers.
