Antonio Burciaga Jr's Obituary
Antonio “Tony” Burciaga Jr., age 75, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Born on December 6, 1948, in Houston, Tony was the beloved son of Antonio Burciaga Sr. and Otila Villarreal.
Tony served his country proudly as a merchant marine for a year and then in the Navy during Vietnam before embarking on a 30-year career as an operator for Celanese. He was a man of many interests and hobbies, with a particular passion for family genealogy, fishing, cooking, and traveling. Known for his warm heart and gentle soul, Tony’s conversations always made others feel valued and deeply loved. His sense of humor was a gift, reminding everyone around him not to take life too seriously.
Tony is survived by his cherished wife of 50 years, Aurelia; his children, Roland Burciaga and Veronica Martinez, along with her husband Freddy; and his grandchildren, Alex Martinez and wife Kayla, Isaac Burciaga, Dylan Martinez, and Mya Martinez. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Box, and her husband Donald, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Tony is reunited in peace with his predeceased sisters, Nana and Lydia.
Tony’s life was marked by an appreciation for his roots and family, which he celebrated through his love of genealogy and storytelling. His legacy lives on through the family he adored, as well as the countless memories he leaves behind for those who knew him.
A viewing and rosary will be held on November 13, 2025, at 5 p.m., followed by a memorial service on November 14, 2025, at 10am. at Southpark Funeral Home in Pearland, Texas. Graveside services will follow.
