Antoinette Marie Dimicelli Palermo-Guzzetta's Obituary
Antoinette Dimicelli Palermo-Guzzetta, born in Houston, Texas on December 8, 1930, went to Heaven Friday March 21, 2025 at the age of ninety-four. Antoinette was born to Carlo and Jennie Dimicelli. Their angel would grow up to be everyone’s angel. She was the epitome of a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was always there for anyone in need with her love and support. Our mother protected and guided us through our lives on the straight and narrow path to our Lord, as she herself was a faithful servant; never missing a day of saying the rosary multiple times and praying for her family, friends, and people she didn’t even know. She was a faithful and devout Catholic, always putting her family before herself. Her pride and joy were her grandkids and great grandkids. They loved their grandma equally with all their heart. As her grandkids were growing up, she always enjoyed every minute of babysitting, cooking for them and spoiling them. She was an amazing cook! She could cook anything, and it was beyond delicious! Some of their favorites were grandma grits, bacon, eggs, cream puffs, sfingis and grandma cake. Everything was so good that it gained the title, “grandma” before it. Grandma grits and Grandma cake. Anytime someone had a birthday, they would place their special order and grandma would make their favorite cake. She taught so many families and friends how to make all the Sicilian cookies. She gave recipes and lessons on all kinds of cookies, and exactly how to cut those cookies to make them fancy. Everyone always placed their special orders for her to cook! Fried chicken was a favorite and she would have every skillet on the stove frying mass quantities of chicken for us. The lasagna…the best in the world. No literally! Along with, cream puffs, sfingis, and cuciadates like no other! Those mass quantities of cuciadates and wedding ring cookies were even made for her grandchildren’s weddings. Other special orders included chocolate chip cookies, brownies, baked eggplant, cardoonies, stuffed artichokes, pasta, and those meatballs, MAGNIFICO! Cornbread dressing, gumbo, chicken soup, every homemade pie imaginable. The list goes on and on.
She was the best and most dedicated floral assistant at her daughter’s flower shop, while loving every minute working with the flowers. Behind the scenes leader of the huge undertaking of making a St. Joseph Altar successful. Oh, how she will be missed! In the event anyone would lose anything everyone knew to call Mama/Grandma because she had a 1-800# to St. Anthony and without fail the lost item would be found. Mama never met a stranger and was a friend to all with her loving, kind-hearted, compassionate, sweet, classy personality. A beautiful lady inside and out. Not a selfish bone in her body.
We are so thankful, proud and blessed that God gave us her for our mother. What a treasure we had!
We will miss you terribly Mama, our matriarch. We know you will be at the gates of Heaven to welcome us with open arms when it is our time to follow you on our journey to Heaven.
