I have many a sweet endearing memories of dear Anthony, and mainly involving our son, Justin, as the two of them grew up together, seemed inseparable for years, and kept such a wonderful loving bond as the closest of friends all these years. When our family first moved to Houston from Chicago in 2001, Justin attended Armand Bayou Elementary, and there met Anthony, where these two shy l’il guys became fast friends. I can’t help but always flashback to one evening at the school, the class they were in together put on ‘The Living Museum,’ whereby parents and siblings would wander the halls near the classrooms, and standing outside in various areas were the young students dressed as someone they admire and chose to vocalize a brief ‘automated’ message when the passersby would step on the big paper button at the foot of the character. While Justin portrayed Astronaut Neil Armstrong with a cool mini-bio expressed, right nearby was Anthony who was portraying first us President George Washington, complete with American war general garb. The poor guy was so hot in that regal costume and notable white hair, but pulled off his fine speech with finesse and informative facts every time! So impressive. There were so many fun antics that always took place whenever Anthony came over to the house to play with Justin. The two of them would be laughing constantly, and plotting silly sinister things to do. These two peas in a pod were the best free entertainment we could’ve asked for. We loved our time visiting with Anthony’s mom and family whenever the opportunity came about. Felt more like the kids were brothers than friends often times. Personally, I really enjoyed Anthony’s company when I went to attend Justin’s graduation from his university some years ago. My wife, Nancy, was unable to attend due to illness, but having Anthony with whom to ride around, attend the ceremony, and some other events was purely a pleasure. Got to know the fine young adult Anthony much better, and learn about all his ventures in music, business, advanced video games, etc. He was always so caring, kind, gentle, sweet, and humorous. I will always be grateful to Anthony for being such a devoted loving friend to our Justin. To Norma, James, Chad, and all who knew and loved Anthony, we wish your or most sincere prayers and may you all be blessed with love, the best memories, comfort, strength, and inner peace, eternally. Rest in peace and Godspeed, Anthony.
