Mrs. Annie Zelle Gladden's Obituary
Annie was born November 22, 1933. She was the daughter of Earnest Alvin Tanner, Sr. and Ova Cleo (Carlisle) Tanner. She has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Annie is survived by six children, Kathi Janine McBride and husband Glenn of Pasadena, Tx., John D Gladden, Jr. and wife Dawn of LaPorte, Tx., Candace McClenny and husband James of Yoakum, Tx., Lara Anne Clampit and husband Randall of Deer Park, Tx., Ernest Hartford Gladden and wife Robin of Mount Belvieu, Tx. and Ellen Cleo Chavis and husband William of Grapeland, Tx. Annie (Mema) has eighteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Annie is survived by her Brother, Ernest Alvin Tanner, Jr. and wife Mavis, Sister, Gwendolyn Simmons and Sister, Marjorie Rappollee and husband Jean. Annie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband John D Gladden, Sr., son-in-law Aaron Joseph Nettles, granddaughter Lara Nicole Nettles and her brother Roland Merrell Tanner. Annie was the secretary for her WMU church class at Point Blank Baptist Church. She was over the Cook book committee and in charge of compiling the recipes. Volunteering with the Point Blank Fire Department she helped with distributing Commodities to persons in time of need. She is a member of Second Baptist Church of LaPorte, Tx. Family and friends may pay respects at the Southpark Funeral Chapel, located at 1310 N. Main Street in Pearland, Texas from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (Wednesday) March 28, 2012.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. (Thursday) March 29, 2012 at the Southpark Funeral Chapel. Interment services will follow at Southpark Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Foundation Fighting Blindness (RP research) or Texas Lighthouse for the Blind, in memory of Annie.
