Mrs. Annamma John
(Beloved Mom, Grand Mother, Great Grand Mother, Teacher- Ammachi)
Mrs. Annamma John was born on February 24, 1934 to Late Mr. & Mrs. Mammen Abraham and Saramma Abraham in Thalavady, Thiruvalla, Alleppey District, Kerala, India. She was born in a middle-class Marthomite family and raised in a spiritually-oriented atmosphere. Her father, Mammen Abraham was a businessman raising his children to his best ability but could not prolong his business activities due to illness.
When her mother, Saramma Abraham, had an encounter with Jesus Christ through the Word of God in the 1950s, she became a born-again Christian. This encounter helped Mrs. Annamma John receive salvation as she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, was water baptized, and filled with the Holy Spirit. She stood for the purity of the Word of God and brought her children up in a godly manner. She shared the Good News of Jesus Christ to everyone she met and walked steadfastly in her faith until her death.
Annamma John was Eldest with 1 brother and 2 sisters. Her brother Abraham Mammen, retired officer in Forest Department in Andamans & Nicobar Islands, India, went to be with Lord in 2018. Her youngest sister went to be with Lord in her childhood. She is survived by her younger sister, Marykutty Joseph, who resides in Chicago, USA with her family.
After passing her 10th grade examination, Mrs. Annamma John joined the Teacher’s Training Course and was appointed as a Primary School Teacher in St. Rita’s L.P School, Thampalakkadu, Kanjirappally, Kottayam, Kerala, India. She settled down in Thampalakkadu till her retirement.
At the start of her teaching career, Mrs. Annamma John, she married P. T. John, son of Late Mr. & Mrs. P.M Thomas, of the Plamkoottathil family in Nellikkamon, Ranni, Kerala on December 25th, 1958. As a faithful believer, she was a member of the Church of God in India until she moved to the US after the passing of her husband, the late P. T. John in 2006, to live with her children. After immigrating to the USA, she continued worshiping God in truth and spirit wherever she was. Mrs. Annamma John was a prayer warrior and constantly prayed for her children, grandchildren, relatives, believers in Christ, and the future generation. She was a pious woman of God and led an exemplary Christian life.
Mrs. Annamma John was preceded in death by her sons, Samkutty John in 1991, Kottayam Kerala and Wilson John in 2015, who resided in Oklahoma.
She is survived by her children and spouses: Selvin John & Annamma Selvin, Susan Samuel & Samuel Thomas, and Sugu John Thomas & Sheenamol Sugu.
Grand Children: Sam Selvin John & Alishya Sam, Sajan Selvin John & Soly Sajan, Andrew John, Alex John, Asher John, Sheba Ann Samuel & Prince Philip, Sheena Samuel, Allen Sugu John, Alma Ann Sugu. Great-grandchildren: Liam Sam John & Abigail Sam.
She was a blessing to everyone she met and will be dearly missed by all those whom she touched.
