Mrs. Anna Kluender's Obituary
Anna was born on October 2, 1942 to John Henry Stoerkel and Hulda Agnes Stoerkel in Houston, Texas. She was baptized on November 1, 1942 and confirmed on April 3, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Houston.
She attended school in Burton, Tx and Houston where she graduated with honors from Jesse Jones High School in 1960. Anna began working at Prudential Insurance Company in August of 1960 and spent 35 years with the company. After retiring from Prudential, she worked as Office Manager for several doctors until breast cancer forced her to retire. She was a 10 year cancer survivor.
As a young adult she was involved in the formation of a singles group called Action. It was in Action where she met her future husband, Stanley Kluender. Anna and Stanley were married on April16, 1976. In 1983 they adopted two sons, Christopher and Kyle. After a short battle, Anna and the boys lost Stanley to cancer in November of 1990.
After losing Stanley, her life had many ups and downs. On Thanksgiving Day in 2013 she fell and shattered her right ankle. She never fully recovered and has been dependent on others to help her with everyday living. On November 10, 2016 she fell asleep and died peacefully.
Anna is survived by her sons; Christopher Henry Kluender, Kyle Jefferson Kluender and wife Rachael; Grandchildren, Jasmine, Grace, Xander and Savannah Kluender; Brother, John Stoerkel, Jr and wife Sherry; “Big brother”, Fred Stoerkel and wife Ruth; Aunts, Mildred Oldham and Charlene Martin; Sister-in-law, Phyllis Becker; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, many cousins, and a host of friends.
Anna was preceded in death by husband, Stanley Lynn Kluender; parents, John and Hulda Stoerkel; and nephews, Jeff Irvin and John Stoerkel III.
Memorials gifts in her honor may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Organ Fund.
Family wishes to acknowledge the care given to Anna by the staff of Orchard Park at Southfork Assisted Living for the last two years.
