Amelia R. Salas, passed away January 6, 2026 at her home in Rosenberg, Texas. She was born on July 25, 1940 in Robstown, Texas.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
She was the daughter of Francisco Rubio and Armandina Flores.
Amelia is survived by her six children; Robert Salas (Margarita), Paul Salas, Patricia DeLosSantos (Oscar), Mary Katherine Ozuna (Steve), Stephen Salas (Maryanne) and Anna Rosas (Chris). 21 beautiful grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Two sisters; Oralia Fragoza (Benjamin) and Isabel Gonzales (Cipriano) along with two brothers David Rubio (Delores) and Gilbert Rubio. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Amelia lived a life rooted in faith, service and unwavering dedication to those she loved. Family was the heart of Amelia‘s world. She created a home filled with warmth, generosity and steadfast support, always placing the needs of others before her own. To be in her home while she was cooking, consider yourself blessed. She was known for her famous homemade flour tortillas. Amelia was not going to have a seat at the table until she has fed everyone there; she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Her deep devotion to her Catholic faith guided every chapter of her life for many years, she served her parish community with love and joy, teaching CCE classes, preparing families for baptism and offering guidance through marriage counseling. Her gentle wisdom, touched countless lives, and her commitment to faith formation left a lasting legacy within her church.
Amelia shared 62 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband Frank Salas before his passing on October 16, 2022. Their partnership was a testament of enduring love, mutual respect, and the strength of a shared spiritual foundation. Amelia will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet strength and her lifelong devotion to God and family. Her legacy lives on in the many people she taught, she counseled and cared for, and in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved Frank, and may her memory continue to inspire faith, love and compassion of the life she touched.
