Alice Lucille Moore's Obituary
Alice Lucille Moore was born in Powder River, Montana on June 4, 1935, not far from the valley of the Little Big Horn. Alice made her own Last Stand at Harbor Hospice in Houston, Texas and died on December 13, 2019, less than two months after her husband of 66 years, Harold Dee Moore. The untimely loss of her mother at age 4 was followed by a meandering childhood, mostly in Louisiana. Being a true Survivor with an indefatigable spirit and high intelligence, she graduated a year early from High School in 1952.
She went on to marry Harold on Valentine’s Day, 1953. Together they raised three wonderful children, Cynthia Anne Kampschaefer of Edmond, Oklahoma, Mark Alan Moore of Pearland and Kenneth Lane Moore also of Pearland. After working for the Pearland Independent School District for many years, Alice retired with her husband to enjoy their remaining years together.
Alice was an avid gardener with an amazing green thumb who belonged for many years to the Houston Rose Society. Visitors to the home were routinely awestruck at what she was able to accomplish almost singlehandedly. She beautifully and devotedly cultivated and maintained the home she never had while growing up. She was a longtime member and well-known Sunday School teacher of several Church of Christ congregations in Pearland.
Alice, after a life well lived, is survived by her children, their spouses, and by seven grandchildren (Ian, Katie, Annelise, Jessie, Aric, Madison and Sydney) as well as 2 great grandsons, Carson and Cameron.
