Aleyamma M. Parumoottil's Obituary
Aleyamma Mathew Parumoottil, lovingly known as Ammani, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, in Missouri City, Texas surrounded by her children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She was born on October 21, 1935 in Valanjavattom, Thiruvalla, Kerala, India. On November 23, 1953, she married the late Mr. P.C. Mathew, a retired KSRTC employee. Together they built a home filled with faith, love, and hospitality. Aleyamma is survived by her five children: her daughter, Susamma Mathew, and son-in-law, K.M. Mathew; daughter Bessy Wambolt, and son-in-law, the late Gerry Wambolt; her son, Jose Mathew, and daughter-in-law, Kunjumol Jose; her son, James Mathew, and daughter-in-law, Mercy Mathew; and her daughter, Anna George, and son-in-law, Mathew George. She was blessed with thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her six siblings, who remained close to her heart throughout her life. Aleyamma’s deep Catholic faith shaped every part of her life. She found joy and peace in attending daily Mass, praying the Rosary, and listening to spiritual talks. She especially loved welcoming guests into her home, was known for the special care and warmth she showed to bishops, priests, and religious who visited. Together with her husband, she was honored with the മാ തൃ ക ദതി (Māthr̥ka Dampathi or "Model Couple") Award in 2005 by the Kerala Catholic Bishops' Conference (KCBC), a recognition of their life of faith, unity, and service. Her caring spirit, unwavering devotion, and love for her family and faith will always be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
