Addison (Gdaddy) A. Locke- Celebrating his Life
Exodus 23:20 See, I am sending an Angel ahead of you to bring you to the place I have prepared. Addison was given his angel wings on May 7, 2018 at 10:20 p.m.
He was born November 18, 1926 in Terral, Oklahoma to Adam A Locke & Maude Powers Locke. Addison moved to Arcadia (now Santa Fe) in 1927. Addison quoted “These were pretty bad years and dad died in 1935 and things got worse.” Addison is preceded in death by his wife (Thelma Faye) along with 22 brothers and sisters. He was the last one to join his siblings.
Addison started working in dairy farms in 1936 and continued working the dairy farms until Graduation from Santa Fe High School in 1944. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in December 1944 & trained as a radio Operator/Gunner in the Navel Air Force. He was discharged in December 1946.
Addison married the LOVE of his life – Thelma Faye Stricklin on June 8th, 1947 in Alvin, Texas.
He Joined Union Carbide as a Unit Operator in December 1946. In 1961 he transferred to Brownsville, Texas as the Plant Distribution Supervisor. In 1984 he transferred back to Clear Lake Regional Office with the responsibility as an Auditor for Terminal Operations throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, Japan, Australia, Thailand, Hong Kong, and the Philippine Islands. He retired from Union Carbide December 31, 1988 after 42 years. He continued as a Consultant for another 2 ½ years.
Addison & is beloved wife Thelma Faye have 3 children: Randolph Howard Locke and wife Carol, Suzanne Locke Dorough and husband Ed, Thomas Addison Locke and wife Susan. He has 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandsons. His grandchildren are Jeff and his partner Greg, Jason, his wife Gaby and great grandson Axel, Erik his wife Rachel, Devon, her husband Steven, Renee, her husband Ross and great grandsons Reece and Rylan, Kristi, her husband Lance and great grandson Luka.
While in Brownsville, Texas, Addison was very active in baseball both Little and Pony League. He was a deacon in the Central Christian Church. Upon his death he was a member of League City United Methodist Church. He loved camping, being outdoors, golfing with his buddies, LIFE and his Lord and Savior. He will be truly missed by many.
