Mr. A.C. Garner's Obituary
A.C. Garner, 76, went home to be with the Lord Friday, January 16, 2009. He was born on September 17, 1932 in Pearland to Gladys Maness Garner and Philip Garner. A.C. was a graduate of Pearland High School where he was a star football player. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. A member of Grand Parkway Baptist Church in Richmond, TX, A.C.'s favorite place for reflection and relaxation was Caney Creek. He was employed by Uncle Ben's for over twenty years and Nabisco for sixteen years. A.C. was preceded in death by son, James Edwin Garner, sister, Nadene Mahaney and brothers, Eugene and C.L. Garner. Survivors include his loving wife of fifty years, Tobie Eden Garner; daughters, Kathy Strader and her husband, Kelly and Theresa Garner; nephew who was like a son, Ricky Garner; brothers, Larry Garner and his wife, Johnnie Mae, Lonny Garner and Milton Garner and his wife, Camille. He also leaves to cherish his memory numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. A Celebration of A.C.'s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2009 in the Chapel of SouthPark Funeral Home.
