Steve could light up any room and would make any and all laugh with his great humor! He didn’t know a stranger and was loved by so many! Thinking of you all during this difficult time! He will be missed deeply! Love you all!

My husband, Doug, and I became friends with Steve and Jenny decades ago through my brother, Cris Gholston, who was really tight with Steve through UT Fijis and Geology. Doug and I were absolutely delighted to become friends with this loving couple and Steve’s wonderful family, including Steve’s gorgeous sister Pam and their incredible parents Ron and Georgia. For many years, the Johnson family included us in their annual crawfish party, which was a huge blast with Ron, Steve, and Pam entertaining and sweet Georgia worrying! Like his entire family, Steve was loving, inclusive, kind, always putting others first, and absolutely hilarious. I told my brother, Cris, that I cannot remember what Steve’s face looks like without a smile! Steve shared his humor and smile so generously and, thus, put smiles on the faces of us all.
It’s so difficult to even attempt to understand how Steve—such a happy, loving, and Ambassador of Fun—could fall victim to an illness that robbed him of these excellent qualities. I wish to praise the amazing Jenny for honoring her wedding vows and always being there for Steve in all ways. We can only imagine what a strong and faithful wife Jenny has needed to be. I am grateful that the Steve Johnson family is a family of Christians. Thus, Steve is removed from his Earthly pain and anguish and is reunited with his family in God’s eternal kingdom. (Ron has probably reserved tee times.) I know, also, that Jenny, Amanda, and Travis will recognize the comfort of the Holy Spirit and the healing that God and time provide.
Doug and I are honored to have been in Steve’s life. We send prayers to Jenny, Amanda, Travis, and all of you who adored Steve Johnson, as we did.

"Hey Brother man, you want to catch lunch?". Typical phone call from Steve, wanting to spend time together and genuinely interested in my life. My life is 1,000% better because of Steve Johnson being in it. Love you Brother.

Steve was the Pied Piper. Anywhere he showed up, the fun factor increased ten fold. He truly was the funniest and most big hearted friend I have known. I will miss him dearly.
No words can express my sorrow SJ, but the great memories will be with me forever.
A true Texas gentleman. Such a kind spirit. I’ll miss you, Brother man. Until we meet in glory.
Steve brought sunshine wherever he was! I loved him like one of my own! The world was a better place with Steve in it. He will be sorely missed by so many!
Steve was always the life of the Party. He will be greatly missed.
