My fondest memory of mom is when she would call me to remind me to help her make tamales for the Christmas Eve family gathering. She was always ready to come to our house for the yearly gathering. I'd ask her if she was good and her response was "Yes, Always!". So when "Santa" 😉 would show up, her eyes would light up, just like a kid waiting for Santa. It brought me joy because she was happy. Her joy was my happiness. I will never forget those memories and will keep them in my heart. I love you mom.
My dearest memory of mom is making tamales. It was one of our family Christmas tradition, and a family gathering talking catching up and joking around. Mom would get mad at us because we wouldn’t be working making the tamales. I love you and miss mom.
Grandma had such a sweet relationship with Katalyna. This is at her 1st birthday party ☺️
I have known Bea for 57 years. I was a five year-old little girl living next-door, being raised by my elderly grandparents one of fondest memories that has stayed ingrained in my mind till this day was how Bea and her husband Andres loved each other. You would think that they had just gotten married and they newlyweds. I remember this one particular time that her husband Andres was chasing Bea around like school kids and chased her all the way outside the house into the yard and around the fence. Bea is running and yelling for dear life, trying not to let Andres catch her, but he finally does. He quickly embraces her and dips her like if they were dancing embracing her in his arms and gives her a big kiss on her lips. This has always stayed in my memories as I always thought back then that this is what being in love looks like, even after six kids.
Wow!!! How beautiful.
A second memory that I have is how she would always invite me over for dinner when they bought Kentucky Fried Chicken on payday Fridays and included me like if I was one of her own.
My third memory, is of her delicious tamales that she would make traditionally during the Christmas holidays, something she passed down to her children to keep the tradition going and they do til’ this day.
Bea, you taught them well.
I just want to say thank you for being like a second mother figure to me when I didn’t have mine around during my childhood and for always having me as part of your family back then and even now.

My greatest memories of Aunt Bea is when Abel and I would drive into Houston to go see her. It was always a great weekend. Aunt Bea opened her doors to all - blood or NOT BLOOD. I remember Abel calling her on Halloween day, every year, to wish her a happy birthday and her birthday is on the 26th of October. Lol Aunt Bea and Abel were always laughing it up. RIP Aunt Bea. We love you!!!
