Mildred Veronica Gregory

February 4, 1930 - June 11, 2022

Mildred V. Gregory, 92, of Houston, Texas went to her heavenly reward on June 11, 2022. Mildred was born February 4, 1930, in East Bernard, Texas to Joseph and Justina (Olsovsky) Eicher. She graduated from East Bernard High School and attended Massey Business College in Houston. On November 19, 1950, Mildred married Freddie J. Gregory, her loving husband of 63 years until he preceded her in death in June 2014. Mildred worked for the Houston Chamber of Commerce, American Can Company, and Houston and Pasadena ISD until retiring in 1998. Mildred and Freddie loved to dance and were members of the Polka Lovers Klub of America for many years. After their children were grown, weekends were filled with polka dances all over Texas. They were beautiful dancers whose feet never seemed to touch the floor. Mildred was also an avid gardener who loved roses, especially pink ones. Mildred loved to cook for her family and holiday meals were a delight for her. Her grandchildren loved Granny's feisty spirit, her homemade rolls and dewberry pies. Later in life she enjoyed friends in her exercise group at the local Methodist Church. Mildred was a parishioner of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church for over 45 years and was a prayer warrior devoted to our Blessed Mother. Mildred is survived by her children, Diana Gregory, Lois Gregory (David Schneider) and Gary Gregory (Laurie), grandsons Mark (Alexi-Noelle), Jason, Kyle (Lindsey) and Ryan, great grandson Xavier, sister Otillia, sister in law Lydia and many nieces and nephews. The family would especially like to thank Maria Torres for her loving care of Mildred. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 18 at Saint Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 10727 Hartsook St, Houston, with Reverend Nicolas Ramirez officiating. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 6:30pm, Friday, June 17 with a Vigil and Rosary following. Graveside services will be held immediately after the funeral mass at South Park Cemetery, 1310 N. Main St., Pearland, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
