Michael Ralph Watkins
November 2, 1956 - June 4, 2022
Michael Ralph Watkins was born in Shreveport, LA on November 2, 1956. He is my little brother and i love him and am, and always have been so proud of him. The first two years of his life he thought i was his mother because unfortunately our mother was ill and so i got to take care of him while i was not in school. When Mike was 3 or 4 his parents moved to Houston. When he was 12 our mother passed away. I kept tabs on him and we visited back and forth. He attended Ridgecrest Elementary School, Landrum Junior High, and Spring Branch High School. In 1976 Mike called me in Shreveport and asked me if he could come and stay with me until he found a job. I asked him why wasn't he in school and he confessed that he had quit school and had been working as a welder so he could buy a car. Then there was a layoff, so he needed help. I said of course he could stay with me but he had to get back into school and he agreed. He went back to school and received his GED from Byrd High School after that he enrolled in commercial college and received a diploma in advanced computer programming. He also attended Bossier Community College. So he got serious about his education and i've always been so proud of his accomplishments. Then he joined the company he worked at for 45 years and finished growing up. Thank you to those for your friendship to him through all those years. It was the most important thing in his life getting to work with his friends and colleagues. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Dean Watkins and mother, Ethel Massey. I pray he knows how much we love him and miss him. I know he does! And i am happy he is not sick and in pain now. And he can enjoy his peace and joy. And i know our heavenly father through Jesus Christ will continue to Bless him.
