Melody Kay Lane (Ginn), of Fort Worth, Texas passed away peacefully at home with her family around her in Pasadena, Texas on April 27, 2022, after battling end-stage liver disease. The graveside celebration will be held on May 3, 2022, at 1 pm CT at South Park Funeral Home at 1310 North Main St. Pearland, Texas 77581. Graveside service will be officiated by her cousin, Jason Simons. Burial will follow the graveside service at the same location. Directly after the service, the family would like to invite you for fellowship and maybe some karaoke, which Melody loved. Melody was born in Fort Worth, Texas on December 19, 1957, to loving parents. She attended Westbury High School in Houston, Texas and eventually earned her GED when she was 29 and started college thereafter. Melody married Harold Ginn on August 25, 1979, after meeting in Brookshire, Texas. They eventually divorced but that never stopped their bond as friends. Melody had a long career as a Childcare Center Director and spent most of her life teaching and singing in and out of classrooms. She loved music and you might have been able to catch a glimpse of her singing one of her many amazing karaoke songs in the area, where she was known as the “Karaoke Princess.” Melody is survived by Vance Ginn (son), Emily Ginn (daughter-in-law), Tiffany Tapia (daughter), and Ricardo Tapia (son-in-law). As well as her greatest blessings in life, her grandchildren: Hailey Tapia, Jordyn Lopez, Masen Martinez, Bricen Ginn, Cooper Ginn, Skylar Tapia, and Parker Ginn. Her sister Jackie McLendon (Denny), nephew Shane Copher, niece Hannah McLendon, and many other close family and friends. Melody is preceded in death by her parents Vandol Lane and Oma Lane (Denny), ex-husband Harold Ginn, sister Rebecca Cutler (Lane), nephews, aunts, uncles, and other loved ones. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for you to consider donating to the Texas Music Project or the Texas Liver Foundation. Melody Lane was a wonderful mother, granny, daughter, sister, wife, friend, and karaoke princess.
