Lola Mae Haygood was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on May 20, 2021. God blessed her with 86 years on this earth. She was born on March 6, 1935 in Liberty, Texas to Joseph and Rosie Bracewell. Lola dedicated her life to serving God as church secretary, Sunday school teacher, a prayer warrior, worshipping God and serving those needing help. She loved working in the yard and garden. She had a green thumb and planted many beautiful flowers, plants and gardens. Lola was a self taught cook and excellent seamstress, sewing outfits for herself and her two daughters. She was widowed early in life at fourth-one years old and devoted the rest of her life loving and spending time with her children and their children. She also was a foster mother for many years, housing, feeding and helping up to twelve children at a time. Lola is preceded in death by her husband, James Arlon Haygood, son, Douglas Alan Haygood, granddaughter, Stormie Blue Haygood, brother, Joe Bracewell, sister, Rosie Bobbit, sister, Shirley McNeese and brother, Charles Bracewell. Lola leaves to cherish her memories her son, James Arlando Haygood and wife, Traca, daughter, Doris Arlene Boyer and husband, Sonny, daughter, Kalinda Diane Kelly and husband Michael and son, Larry Gene Haygood. Lola dearly loved her grandchildren, James Blake Haygood and wife, Vickie, Brandy L Terrell and husband, John, Bryan Douglas Haygood and wife, Stacey, Amber Lafawn Springer and husband, Michael, Awburn Michelle Haygood, Ashley Haygood, Christina Dianna Dudycha, Christle Arlenna Kunefke and husband, Brandon, Mara Deanne Kelly and Bradley Michael Kelly. She also was blessed by many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Lola has one living sister, Virginia McNeely, sister-in-law, Mary Melton, brother-in-law, Ronald Haygood and wife, Roxanne, brother-in-law, Claude Parker and sister-in-law, Gayle Haygood. Lola will be remembered by many family and friends for her intelligence, hard work, strength through obstacles and loss, but, most of all for her love for God, family and friends. The Haygood family will be receiving friends and family on Friday, May 28, 2021 for a visitation from 9:00am-10:00am at In His Presence Fellowship. Funeral service will begin at 10:00am. Interment at South Park Cemetery.
